Presidents Welcome

Welcome to Townsville Picnic Bay Surf Lifesaving Club. We are an integral part of Townsville's community through the provision of voluntary lifesavers, keeping our beaches safe. We patrol beaches at The Strand in Townsville and Picnic Bay Magnetic Island.

Strong traditional values are one of the key success factors of Townsville Picnic Bay Surf Lifesaving Club. We offer the teaching of lifesaving skills, first aid, the provision for surf sports involvement and community engagement.

Townsville Picnic Bay Surf Lifesaving Club was established in the 1927, and due to our dedication and commitment to our members we were named North Barrier Branch Club of the year in 2014/15. We are proud to foster our young lifesavers into future leaders of our club and community.

We are a family orientated club with core vales that reflect professionalism, sportsmanship, mateship and pride. We wish you all the best in becoming a member of the Townsville Picnic Bay Surf Lifesaving Club and look forward to meeting you on the beach.

On the Beach

Many of our most valued roles never require you to enter the water. Serve as an observer, radio operator, or first aid responder — your contribution is just as vital.

In the Water

Love the surf? Our expert trainers will qualify you to perform rescues, spot hazards, and respond to emergencies. Start your journey with the Bronze Medallion.

With Our Nippers

Volunteer as an Age Manager, Water Safety officer, or parent helper for our Junior Activities program. It’s one of the most rewarding things you’ll do on a Sunday morning.

Behind the Scenes

Events, administration, fundraising, governance — the club runs because of people who contribute off the beach. Whatever your skills, we can find a role that suits you.
