The Surf Club is situated on the Burke Street Headland in the center of The Strand, Townsville. 


Our venue is arguably the most unique in town boasting beach, ocean, island and parkland views.

We have constant sea breezes from sunrise to sunset.

There is plenty of accommodation or dining options near our venue which makes is perfect for out of town visitors for conferences, training or weddings. 

We can expand our liquor license to  include Burke Street Headland which offers a unique opportunity for larger events or functions under the stars. 

PARKING / TRANSPORT | Free on-street parking, Taxi bay and Bus stop less than 3mins walk from front door


COMFORT | Our Function room is fully air conditioned with block-out blinds and surrounded by the deck on two sides. Our deck is fully covered with transparent blinds to help block the elements without blocking the view.


AV EQUIPMENT | Our Function room boasts a ceiling-mounted data projector and pull-down screen. We can provide a wireless microphone with our indoor / outdoor sound system.


BEVERAGES | We can also cater for all the non-alcoholic beverages for your function including; Espresso coffee, Automated/Self-serve Coffee, Tea, Fresh / bottled juices, Soft drink + Still or Sparkling water

VENUE HIRE | All hire fees offer exclusive venue hire, cleaning and (if applicable) bar staff.


BOOKINGS | Monday – Saturday. Sunday [from 7pm] upon request.


BAR | Our bar is fully stocked with beer, wine, basic spirits and soft drinks. Please ask our Events Manager for the latest menu for inclusions and pricing. We can provide customised beverage packages upon request.


LICENSING | Our venue is licensed 10am - Midnight 7-days per week. No BYO or take-away alcohol is permitted at any time.


CATERING | We do all the inhouse catering now, please request further information on food options & pricing


FURNITURE | Furniture can be provided for conferences or functions of up to 50pax. Any additional hire is on-charged Inc. delivery, set-up, pack-down and collection.


LINEN | Basic linen is including in conference and day packages only. Linen hire is on-charged or can be arranged through your decorator.


DECORATIONS | DIY / Decorator. Refer to our T&C’s for limitations.
