CYRMS

Anyone working with children must complete this each season. In preparation for the start of the 19/20 season the information is now available. If you are a patrolling member, member of a committee, official etc, please complete the online induction OR we will be running information sessions at the start of the season for members to attend and you can be signed off after this.

A Child & Youth Risk Management Strategy (CYRMS) is mandatory as per the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (the Act). All clubs and branches must ensure that the strategy has been documented and forms part of the club’s commitment to child safety.

-Training / Induction to members will again be available in two forms - template PowerPoint induction (attached) or online education.

BLUE CARD FORMS

A very important part of this strategy is the Blue Card System which ensures that the past is risk managed though the initial assessment, which determines a person’s eligibility to work with children, based on known police or disciplinary information.

With the volume of blue card applications being very high at this time of the season, please ensure that all forms are scrutinized prior to sending to SLSQ to alleviate delays in processing
